THE DARIUS AWARDS
By Julian Darius. Made available at persiancaesar.com on 1 March 2001.

Screw the Oscars. Every awards program has made eggregious errors of omission. Out of fury against the injustice of inordinate acclaim and unrecognized genius, I've decided to make my own awards, ones rooted in both education and insight rather than political maneuvering.

Fuck politics. Fuck popularity. Fuck pay-offs. These are the works of art that move us and make life worth living.

Awards are awarded on an as-needed basis; not all awards are given in any particular year, and some special awards are given only in particular years. Moreover, I do not pretend these awards to be definite; in fact, like any honest awards, they are malleable and subject to change.
